Subject: The Vital Important Role of VOA in Vietnam.
Dear Director Ensor,
You may be surprised to hear that Most Venerable Thich Quang Do has made it known to President Obama and his Administration that Vietnam needs more than ever the service of VOA/ Vietnamese service. He is the supreme Buddhist Leader in Vietnam under House Arrest.
While Propaganda is the strength of any Communist controlled regime, accurate, objective, and comprehensive information from VOA have been the only trusted source of news. Vietnamese service to 84 million people must not be cut because of the budget. Its budget should be doubled, tripled, to deal with the coming developments in Asia.
Due to the importance of the issue. I came to the White House, the Capitol, to voice his concerns. I also visited VOA on the 7th of March to look for the possible assistance of our Vietnamese American Community for VOA.
Please advise me of your demands. We shall find supply with most doable solutions.
